2003 Happy Tails

Page 2 - August through December

Kyan ~

As the snow began to fall, this boy  wandered around the Ohio countryside in search of his family,  He was fortunate to wander into the Suchy's family home in Plain City Ohio, where after an earlier phone call to AHRCO seeking guidance, Jill Suchy was waiting for him.  Captured and secured in the warm garage, he settled down to a bowl of food and a nap.  Almost immediately he was disturbed and loaded into Jill's car for a road trip to Columbus and the safety of rescue .  Weeks later, when efforts to trace his family went unfulfilled, Kyan has gone to his forever home with Hollis & Wayne in Barrington, IL.

Aristotle ~

Originally surrendered to rescue in 2000, Aristotle enjoyed life with his military Mom.  In August 2003 when military obligations again demanded travel, Aristotle's Mom made the difficult decision to return him to rescue in hopes of his finding a new home where he would not have have to be separated his family ever again.   He quickly found his forever home with Bob and Fran Schuleit in Michigan.  Now 8 years old, a cancer survivor (he lost an eye to cancer in 2002), Aristotle has shown the Schuliet's that life will never be the same again.

Truman ~

Mr. Truman Bluesocks is quite the traveler.   Found stray in Warwick County, Indiana he enjoyed the hospitality of the good people at the Warwick Humane Society before being released to AHRCO volunteer, Katie Horn.  Comfortable in Katie's bright yellow VW Turbo Beetle, he settled in for the long ride back to Ohio, where after a brief stay he was back on the road again toward his new home with Bonnie McAdoo in Uniontown, PA.

October 2003

Brock ~

The son of a champion, Brock was sold as a puppy and enjoyed life as a family pet, and later an affie companion to play with.  For a few years everything was wonderful until life changes forced his owner to part with his companion affie.   Lonely without his buddy to play with,  Brock was passed around between family and friends until surrendered to rescue.  With permission from his breeder, Brock was adopted by his foster family as a companion for  Shimmie in Sept 2003

Kali ~

In August we received a call from the owner who no longer had time for his afghan hounds.   A week later Kali and Gabriel arrived.   After a visit to the vet hospital they were placed into separate foster homes.  A month later 5 year old Kali has been granted her wish to spend her remaining years enjoying life with Bud & Erma teaching Parker how to race around the yard in 30 seconds.              September 2003

 Gabriel ~

3 year old Gabriel arrived in rescue as many do - dirty and matted to the skin.  Sporting his new look, and after a trip to the vet, Gabe was soon on his way to his foster home.    After a few weeks of learning his house manners, Gabe was on his way to his forever home in Grosse Isle, Michigan.   Adopted by Joe & Cathy as a companion to Fin and Edgar, Gabe has been renamed "Tiny" in honor of Joe's love for the Hardy Boys.
