Daphne ~

Update May 31

Today, I finally received some pics from Daphne's Mom showing some of Daphne's injuries.   These photos were taken 2 weeks after the Rottweiler attack.   As you look at these photos you can see the drains that remain in the largest wound.  There are additional wounds on Daphne's other side.   You can also see that there are wounds under her leg in the groin area.

Daphne is doing about the same. She is still having a lot of trouble walking. In a conversation with Peggy on Saturday, the vet tech commented that it was if Daphne has forgotten how to use her right leg and foot . When the pad of her foot is placed on the floor, she will move it until she is walking using the top of her foot.    She walks on her toes in the beginning, but as she gets more tired, she starts to go back on the top of her foot. She is  walking longer everyday but still not well, and Peggy is  afraid that she will never be able to handle stairs again. Peggy lives on the 2nd floor of her home having given the 1st floor to her 85year old Mom who lives with her.   And while Daphne loves to spend a little time with Grandma, her first love is being with Peggy.  Peggy tries not to worry, but it is hard. She misses her "Daffy affie" so much.
