Hello my affie friends,

I am HRH Queen Daphne of Central Arfdom, I would like to share with you my journey home. But first a very special thank you to those who made my journey possible. To my special nurse, Barb Cook of Lexington KY, I send licks and loves, without you, I would never have been able to walk again; to Mr. Al and Nurse Carmel, thank you for the care and tenderness you showed me after Nurse Barb became ill and could not care for me. And Mr. Al, my very own personal chauffeur, thank you for the rides in the Big Blue Silverado SS Truck (aka BBSSST ; thank you to all my affie friends who contributed financially toward my veterinary care, and to my doctors. I thank you all very much. I am truly blessed to have so many wonderful friends.

Yesterday, was a big day for me. For the first time since that horrible day in May, I am able to go home. We boarded my royal carriage and set out early from Camp Carmel in Youngstown, Ohio for the long ride back to Newport KY. Along the way, we met up with "Aunt Maureen", and she followed the BBSSST all the way to KY. It was a bright sunny fall day, without a cloud in the sky when we arrived. Mom was waiting on the porch for us and came to greet me at the curb side as my royal carriage halted. Oh, I was so happy to see her. I was smiling so much, and my tail was wagging so fast, and I was is such a hurry to climb down from my throne in the BBSSST that Mr. Al had to tell me to be still for a minute. Mom had made a few changes from when I left, there was this new shiny ramp thingie on the steps, but I didn't like it much, so Mr. Al moved it, setting it up on the backside of the steps making it much more secure for future use.

Anyway, I made it up the ramp and into my house, and headed straight for my old favorite spot on the floor in front of the daybed. Mom had my favorite comforter waiting for me. I plopped myself down and let my subjects come greet me. First Mama, then grandma, then my best friend Bijou and Ryker, then this other monster appeared. Not sure where he came from, he wasn't there when I left, but he sort of looks like me except his hair is a different color, so he must be okay. Bijou told me, a nice breeder gave him to Mama when they thought I would not be able to come home.

I am happy Mama has Aaron, as my homecoming is not as blessed as it should be. I am so very sad to share with you, that the doctors have done all they can to help me, that my current health is as good as I am going to be. Although Mama must help me get my royal butt off the blanket, I am able to wander around and enjoy life quite well, I will even steal the turkey from the table, however my doctors have told me this will soon change. There has been some unexpected complications with my health and the doctor has given me only a few months to live. Do not be sad for me. I love my mama and am very happy to be home. When it is my time to go to the bridge, Aunt Maureen has arranged with my new vet. to come visit my home. Until then, I plan to enjoy my royal life and teach Aaron how to help Mama around the house.

Thank you.
