King George Noah Washington

August 2001

George and Jenna were adopted together to share life with Debby Coss and Family, in Marietta, OH.

March 1, 2000

King George Noah Washington has completed his heartworm treatment and received a positive report. In January George relocated to a temporary foster home. Captured by the charm of his companion afghan hound, George blossomed. As his health improved George began to enjoy life under the direction of his queen, rescued Afghan hound Jenna. Together they entertain their family with their afghan antics. Together, they torment the family cat, together they enjoy their large fenced yard, together to convince their humans to feed, and walk them. Together they tolerate their baths and grooming time. Together they command the couch each evening. Together, they are forever.

Long live the King

My story.....

On September 16, 1999.I was rescued by Afghan Hound Rescue of Central Ohio after my owners abandoned me. I was not pretty when I came to rescue. I smelled very bad, my coat was dirty and full of mats. My legs were matted together, my toenails grown so long, they curled under into the pads of my feet. All this made it very difficult for me to walk.

But I did walk. Out of the shelter, with my head held high. Then I patiently waited and snoozed on a clean blanket while my matted hair was snipped away enough to bath me. Oh, it felt so GRAND to be clean, and rid of the fleas and maggots

For the next couple of days I lazed around enjoying my new bed of several comforters and pillows, ate many bowls of food and water. Many people came to visit me. They made strange noises when they saw me. Gave me lots of hugs and told me my life was going to be okay now.

Everyone asked my name. My foster mom said I looked like a "George" and that she would call me George for the little girl who came with her to the shelter to get me. George was her nickname. Then all my friends added other names they thought were suitable. Finally, I was born.

I am King George Noah Washington.
