Piper ~

Adopted in 2003 by an apparently affluent family, Piper appeared to be enjoying life whenever a home visit was made.   Sadly, time passed, and Pipers family developed allergies and needed to return him to rescue.   Assured that there was no rush, we waited until the right home came along before making the road trip to fetch Piper home.   Shocked at his condition, it took all my strength to restrain myself until I was safely on the road home with Piper.   His adoptive family assured me that they had taken him to their vet, that nothing could be found wrong with his health.   BS!!!    We took him to the vet, he was immediately diagnosed as severely anemic, suffering a massive infestation of every parasite known to mankind.   Treating the initial problems, we waited the outcome of further diagnostic tests.   Sadly, Piper was diagnosed with advanced osteosarcoma.   Thank you Bonnie Wilson, for making Pipers last days comfortable.    Thanks to you,  he left this earth knowing love and kindness, and the soft luxurious comfort of a feather bed.      November '04
