What is a rescued Afghan hound?

Rescued Afghan hounds are those previously, neglected or unwanted dogs who are the victims of today's disposable society. Often their path to rescue is puppy mill, to pet store, to impulsive buyer, to rescue. Sometimes they are from inexperienced backyard breeders. Occasionally they become part of a rescue program after the loss of family due to death or serious illness. Many times these animals come with baggage and need extra care to overcome a previous lack of training, diet, or exercise to become beloved house pets. Always, they come to rescue through no fault of their own.
